All my congratulations for the self-respect and courage of M S Dhoni and the whole Indian cricket team and organisation for making the decision today.
I'm not going to try to explain to those who don't know the game of cricket. For a professional sport, I don't think it was the right decision. Bell made a mistake, and he should have paid the penalty for it.
It was a human decision, unanimous amongst the entire team structure. It includes the implicit acknowledgement that they felt they had made a mistake initially. Not an easy thing to do in front of hundreds of millions of people.
Again, congratulations, and the best of fortune for the rest of the match, and the rest of the series.
This topic might not have much to do with mainframes, but I did previously suggest Mahendra Singh Dhoni for some test data, at least.... |

Well personally i think he was out & shouldn't have been called back...
As Harsha Bhogle commented that it happens numerous times that the fielding side knows the batsman is not-out, but appeal & he is given out. So why don't they call the batsman back then.
What happened at end was good for the sport..Gentleman's game!!!!
It takes lot of guts 2 take such a decision.. Kudos to Dhoni & Team India.... |

Hi Bill,
Actually its out and i dont know what made Dhoni's mind to change it down. it will be very tough target to chase and this series has gone for a toss because India didnt capitalise in 1st innings of both the test match. |

As they say, "With great power, comes great responsibility" - M S Dhoni, in the History of Cricket, is at such a level now that anything/everything he does on the fields will be remembered for years to come -- he has enough in his kitty to bask about and such a decision will make him a good human...
And I support His decision. |

Hi,
I bet Ricky Ponting wouldn't have been so kind.
Alarm Bell ?
I hope there wasn't a bet that Ian Bell wouldn't be out before tea.

For me out is out. |

Dhoni Accepted it.
