Hi
We have a requirement to convert a JCL which was earlier using comparex to compare two files. We now need to compare two files using Fileaid. Can anyone help with a sample JCL which uses fileaid to compare two datasets? |

Hello,
Is there some reason you not shown what you want to do? As you have been here for 4 years, you would have seen that the way to get answers is to provide information people can use to help you.
What does "compare" mean to you? There are several ways to "compare" and you haven't specified which you want.
If you post a few records from both files and the output you want from the compare, someone may be able to offer suggestoins.
Is there some reason superc or your sort product cannot be used? |

The File Aid Batch Reference Manual discusses comparing files in chapter 3.1.2 on the COMPARE verb, and chapter 7 (Compare Criteria Control Cards).
Is there some reason you want us to be a manual reading service for you? |

shikhasharma,
You have posted this same question in 3 different topics
The others have been deleted and if you are caught posting multiples again, you will get at least a warning. It is even possible that someone will ban your id from further posting. . .

Asking for a "JCL" for a File-AID comparison is like asking for something as long as a piece of string. File-AID comparisons are run in batch dozens to hundreds of times per day (yes, even on weekends) on our development sysplex. Almost all the jobs are generated by our tools. The wide variety of types (formatted vs. unformatted, sorted vs. read-ahead, single vs. multiple record types, identical vs. different layouts, etc.) result in non-trivial differences in the actual JCL, to say nothing of the File-AID control cards.
You have given no information for us to go on. Think about what you are attempting to do, read the File-AID manuals, and then ask some meaningful questions. |
