will start execution from that step

about check

are you talking about WRITECHECK option in VSAM???

it is used for verify.
when you want verification to be done automatically

Pawan,
The question is about checkpoint/restart in IMS. In case the program fails one can restart the program and process data/databases from the point the checkpoint was taken last.
