Hi,

I get the layout and mapping of data of a file using File AID. Is there anyway that I can take a copy of the fileaid view in XL.

For eg: shall we take the below view in a XL from file aid. Any option to support the same ?
Code:
NUMBER      DETS          SEQ
10/AN          7/PS             2/AN
(1-10)         (11-17)          (18-1
3------------- 4--------------- 5----
********************************* TOP
0000000010                    0 01
0000000029                    0 01
0000000037                    0 02
0000000045                    0 01
0000000053                    0 02

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello,

When posting information that needs to be aligned, use the "Code" tag. You info has been "Code"d, but i suspect the alignment is not correct.

If you are posting the content of a screen, code, or data simply copy/paste the content to the Reply Editor, highlight this, and click Code.

What does this mean? Do a more complete job of describing what you want to do.

1. The layout pasted from mainframes is the right one. I do not see any issue with the display. Please be more clear when you are spottiing something!

2. The question clearly states that "copy the content from file aid"
=> I am seeing the layout from file aid. Is there anyway to copy the data with the layout from mainframes into a xlsheet.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Or course you do not see any issue - the mess/clutter you posted has been corrected. . . If you cannot understand that your post was subsequently "Coded" (it still might not be properly aligned), i doubt that anyone will be able to be clear. . .

Yes, i suspect that everyone understood that you wanted to copy something from file aid. It was not so clear what you wanted to do with it. . . XL is not an industry standard term. It is possibly some local slang - which we try to avoid. How hard would it have been to mention either Excel or spreadsheet in your initial post?

If you download the info into a text file, you can then import it into Excel and set boundaries wherever you want.
