And what, there is nothing of any use in the output messages to help you determine the problem ?
It states quite clearly what the cause of the problem is. |

We are unable to find that details whether any user/Job used that
VSAM file at that time. It was given this error at 5.50 AM IST. We are
thinking users will not use the VSAM file at that time.
Could you tell me how to find the users/job accessed that VSAm file ? |

Each site may or may not have products / utilities installed to find this information.
The first place to ask is your work colleagues. |

SMF data can provide details, but unless your site has MXG or MICS or something similar, it's a pain to process the SMF records. What not just put a DD statement in the job with DISP=OLD on that VSAM file? That way it won't be running when someone else is using the data set. |

If you have the required RACF access to issue this MVS command it will tell you what is currently allocating the dataset:
D GRS,RES=(SYSDSN,'D966.SONVK.DIV705.SON3010.RECAP')
Note with VSAM it can be that nothing is actually currently allocated but something in the past was but abended leaving the 'in use flag' on for the file in the catalog. Can't recall exactly but I think a VERIFY might fix that, or it may have to be opened for output and reclosed to switch it off. After that you should be able to delete and redefine it normally.
An IDCAMS DIAGNOSE of the file may help reveal the underlying problem if it's still failing. |
