Have you tried the "IBM Manuals" link at the top of this page?
All IBM books have PDF version that could be easily downloaded and printed.

Yes, I have but they're not quite what I'm looking for. I would like one single book that could me catch up with REXX. I remember someone mentioning one a few months ago that he would recommend to anyone starting with Rexx or already proficient with Rexx, but I can't remember the name. |

Hello,
Suggest you search within the forum (SEARCH in the blue above) and look for the topic you saw previously. |

I've done that and nothing came up. I'm not sure if it was here that I saw the reference to the book. |

This was probably and most likely over a year ago maybe closer to a year and a half.
What I remember from the book is that the person who recommended it said it was a must for anyone who works with Rexx.
I have come accross a book in particular and the name ring a bell although I'm not 100% sure if this was The book mentioned:
"Rexx Language" from M. F. Cowlishaw. Do you know this title? Is it any good? |

It's amazing how old all of these titles are, and how they are (I think) rather expensive. I'm suprised that there aren't newer books out there to cover topics such as using REXX in USS and maybe even using SysRexx. I guess the important thing is to narrow down the environment or environments where you might expect to use REXX. I think most of these materials spend WAY too much time going over what I consider to be the basic concepts of all structured programming, and not enough on the rest. |

Worth a visit is the Rexx Language Association website, wherein you may find ( by following the link to "About REXX" ) a link to an archive of Mike Cowlishaw's original REXX website. Also some fairly useful tutorials. |

buying "REXX language: a practical approach to programming" by Mike Cowlishaw
is like buying "The C Programming Language" by Kernighan & Ritchie
not the latest thing but a good reference by the Rexx inventor himself |
