Is MFS a part of IMS DC or is it a separate concept....

MFS is message formatting system. It is a feature used in IMS/DC. I dont find such feature in other front ends.

E.g CICS is transactions oriented application whereas IMS/DC is called as MFS program where is handle input and output date by the way of MID & MOD.
