difference between vsam,qsam&gsam datasets?

what is the difference between qsam,vsam&gsam datasets?

There are all concepts.

VSAM is an indexed file.
IMS/DC is based on QSAM concept.

You can also build IMS/DB based on GSAM concept.

Generally IMS database would build in HSAM, HISAM concept.
