Hi,
I was trying to establish a connection between CICS and IMS, using the transaction CDBC.
But it was failing with the following message
DFHDB8222 Connection has failed. DBCTL return code is 12.
I have searched a lot to diagnose the return code, but could not get through, can anybody help me in trying to understand the return code
Thanks,
Chanti |

Hi,
Thanks, for the response.
I could really understand what does DBCTL Return code 12 means??
User Response: See the IMS Messages and Codes manual for an explanation of the DBCTL return code.
I was referring all the manuals to understand what DBCTL return code 12 means, but couldnt break through.
It will be really helpful if you could provide some insight into it
Thanks,
Chanti. |

Since I don't have the manual, what does the IMS Messages and Codes manual provide for an explanation of the DBCTL return code? |

Hi peter,
Thanks, for your response
Our IMS reslib using the default 00(Suffix), supplied DFSPZP00. The library containing this Linkedited module is a part of CICS steplib concatenation.
So, still we are unsure why its failing to allocate dynamically
Thanks,
Chanti. |

Chianti, i said it COULD be the reason.
maybe there are other return code 12. For that
you have to consult that manual. I did see a table
with more than 1 return code 12. |

The problem got solved.
Actual problem was in the definition of DFSPZP00, i have defined a new DFSPZP01 with proper parameters as per manuals and it worked
Thanks,
