Hi everybody,
unexpectedly i deleted my dataset, now i would like to restore it. How can i restore. even i don't know volume number.
please help me.

Go to ISPF option 6
in cmnd line give HRECOVER '<DATA SET NAME>' GENERATION(0)
STILL IF U FIND PROBLEM...tell me..will tell further.....some options are their to recover old datasets which was nt backed up |

DFSMSHSM NOT ACTIVE - REQUEST 00000002 QUEUED

please tell another option

I think ur system does nt have support to Hierarchial Storage Manager (HSM)....
Better u try these options & tell
In TSO give
HLIST DATASETNAME('<Data Set Name>') BCDS TERMINAL
then as above hrecover '<originala Data set Name>' gen(001) newname ('<new Data set Name>')
you willl get all your contents in the new dataset name |

Hi muthu,
i tried above options but i couldn't recover my dataset.
option 1: HLIST DATASETNAME('<Data Set Name>') BCDS TERMINAL
when i tried this i got following message,
ARC0814I LIST PROCESSING TERMINATING EARLY, RC=02
ARC0140I LIST COMPLETED, 0 LINE(S) OF DATA OUTPUT
***
option 2: hrecover '<originala Data set Name>' gen(001) newname
('<new Data set Name>')
when i tried this i got following message,
DFSMSHSM NOT ACTIVE - REQUEST 00000007 QUEUED
***

I told you....Your system does nt supports HSM utility...It may have some other alternatives....Contact Helpdesk |
