if I have a GU call like this
gu seg1(key1=123)
seg2(key2=456)
seg3(key3=789)
Here is the segment I will get is seg3 but what my key feed back area will
be having ? either the concatenated key or key3 alone? |

It will contain all 3. I you did a GN on seg2, it would contain the key values from seg1 and seg2. If you did a GN on seg3, it would contain the keys from seg1, seg2, and seg3. |

This concept is sometimes evasive. IMS keeps track - it's one of the really positive benefits of IMS. Even if you did an unqualified GN for a segment level 6 levels down - without providing the 5 qualifed SSA statments for those segment above - your keyfeedback area would contain all of the keys up the chain.
Many do not understand that you can go after a segment type without providing those above. Good Luck! |
