i am getting an abend code S000 U4000 why?

S000 U4000 is a user abend code. Why this is happening is completely application dependent. You haven't said WHAT is abending.
Check the product's documentation.

one of the reasons i got U4000 abend was when a file is of a certain record length is read into a working storage / temporary file space with a lesser record length.
but there can be other possiblities too for a U4000 abend. you need to dig in more into the factors under which you are getting this abend. |

After five years, I think they've either come up with a resolution or produced a work-around. I don't see how your answer particularly helps over Garry's anyway. |
