I don't believe your data set names for AMBS0 through AMBS9 are valid. The 1st character of each node must be alphabetic or national according to the MVS JCL Reference. The last node of those data sets start with a numeric character. |

Hi Terry,

Not when the symbolic parameters are resolved - they just become the last character in the dsn. |

I said "the last node". Look again at the DSNs. There are no symbolics in the last node of those data set names. |

"1 through 8 alphanumeric or national ($, #, @) characters, a hyphen, or a character X'C0'. The first character must be alphabetic or national ($, #, @). For example, DSNAME=ALPHA is an unqualified data set name."

Yup, but unfortunately, the expanded proc wasn't posted. We don't know what this
Code: |
DSN=&BSC.CMZVS&ST..PO.&MI15..&FILE2.0 |
becomes but it is something that ends in .xxx0
Maybe we'll see the actual ezt error message soon. . .

I stand corrected, Dick. I saw 2 periods there where there was only 1. What is that saying about "the 1st thing to go"? |

Some say that sight is the 1st thing to go (in old age). I can think of worse things. |
