Hi,
Is there any way to find the list of active users who use the mainframe environment? |

TSO users, yes. All users, no, at least I don't think so. |

when i go into my sysview, and give type as TSU and prefix * ... i get list of all the tso users currently active on mainframes.. one way.. which product are u using ? there should be some security file in ur system where all the users are listed.. e.g. we have an ACF file where all the mainframe users and their data is stored.. |

Thanks for the replies Kevin and Non Serviam.
I use an extra emulation software. I assume you are asking about this.
the TSU command does not work for me. Is there any other option? |

We use RACF, which tracks the last date and time each valid account used resources (signed on, submitted a job, started a task, ..) on the mainframe. This is one way to know who is using the mainframe environment. Although you do have to consider started tasks that have RACF ids, production accounts, and so forth. |

RACF users with an allocated TSO segment should remove the STC uids, but that may be site specific. |

For CICS, take a look at the INQUIRE TERMINAL statement. Remember that you can use INQUIRE commands in BROWSE flavour to get the list of users.
