Use HRECOVER and the DSN for the deleted DSN |

You can recover only if You have a backup
we do not know anything about Your environment, the product installed, Your organization standards
ask Your storage support |

Unfortunately, when you get it wrong, you need to take the consequences of your actions.
The first priority, to your employer and yourself, is to get the data recovered rather than cover your tracks, which is virtually impossible to do with SMF data recording everything that you do.
As suggested, have you tried the HRECOVER command |

ARC1001I P421.SCN.AW.DXON.D140309 RECOVER FAILED, RC=0028, REAS=0000
ARC1128I BACKUP/DUMP COPY DOES NOT EXIST

It is written in plain English, there is no known HSM backup or dump of the dataset that you want to recover.
You need to talk to your storage people quickly, as there may be an offsite backup of the dataset which may be used, and will cause HSM to issue that message if the DUMPCLASS is set to NORESTORE.
Also you need to investigate any batch backups that may be executed within the application to use to recover from.
If all else fails, you are going to have to come clean with the boss. |

Hello,
They retrieved it from a backup using methods typically not available to the developers/users of the system.
Be kind to your storage admins - they can save your butt. . .

Lucky You . . . .
Once this happend to me, DSN was not deleted by mistake but it was "removed" by the regular "archiving activity" and then it was not recovered. It was a back-up of some table in production and luckily I had it availble image-copy which was implemented just few days ago. . . |
