Are you responsible for scheduling - if NO - talk to the people that are
If you are responsible - What do the manuals say you should do ? |

you sounds more like CA7 support person (just an assumption), if so in CA7 we have option to schedule the job on different conditions. I guess you can use that. |

Perhaps your manager was suggesting CA7 dataset triggering as the vehicle to accomplish the task, although he does not mean for you to actually perform the updates required to CA7.

I would find out first from the people who are ultimately responsible for the maintenence of CA7 that you do have the required access to update the schedules, and that they would be happy for you to do their work for them.
But in the end, I can recall having to do this many many years ago, and using the manual it took me about half an hour to find out what was needed. Have you read the manual yet ? |

Look, it is blatently obvious that you know absolutely nothing about CA7, and therefor your assumption that you are suddenly responsible for CA7 is wildly off target.
As suggested, go talk to the people responsible for creating and maintaining the CA7 schedules. |

why You keep asking for documentation...
if You organization is licensed and You have the need to know
it should be available to You thru Your organization channels
it is illegal to provide copies of copyrighted documents
...
after more than 100 posts You should know |

hi syntel,
in CA-7, u can go thru the option,
give the command DB @ top of the screen and then
by giving 2 in the ca-7 screen and then 6 .. now it'll takes u to screen, wher u can set a job to be trigger after availability of your dataset..
check it out......machi |

Hi,
First you should define that dataset in CA7 with using DB.6 panel or DSN ( give the top line command as DB.6 or DSN).
Then you can use the DB.2.6 panel (dataset triggering panel) add the job which you want to trigger. (Note : your job should be define in CA7).
OR
we can use time we can use OPS/MVS table also for dataset triggering. Here we need to define your actual daaset and CA7 dummy dataset.
Thanks,
Sri |
