ok for the WHOHAS, it' a user developed tool,
but it' s strange for ISRDDN
if ispf works, also the ISRDDN module should
I just checked, it resides in the "ISP.SISPLOAD"

why not ask Your support icon_biggrin.gif

I agree, you should have ISRDDN if you are using ISPF. Unless your shop rules and you edit using plain TSO ;)

Maybe you can try using 'ISRDDN E' as a line command...

Code:

XXXX T - Data Sets Matching TEST1.TEST                             Row 1 of 01

Command ===>                                                  Scroll ===> CSR

Command - Enter "/" to select action                  Message           Volume
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ISRDDN E TEST1.TEST.DATASET                                             XX516F

Hi Enrico,

My shop does have "WHOHAS", so probably I've never thought about ISRDDN for this purpose, I tried it & it works for me... icon_smile.gif .

My query is: when I find (F 'file name' at command prompt) the file in ISRDDN it does shows it's presence there but how to conclude who is "holding" this file from there; below is the statistics for the file HLQ.FIRST.FILE.MAIN which I got, please suggest.

Code:
Blksz Lrecl RCFM Org  Act DDname   Data Set Name   Actions:Open     SMS ENQWait  Volume   Disposition
27920    80 FB   PS  >    ISP02585 HLQ.FIRST.FILE.MAIN              SMS           MIZAB5   SHR,KEEP
27920    80 FB   PS  >    ISP02586 HLQ.FIRST.FILE.MAIN Open         SMS           MIZAB5   OLD,KEEP

I'm, perhaps, not being able to recall, where to issue PF1?

Hi Dick,
I think what Od311 was trying to say is that in ISPF 3.4 you can enter ISRDDN E next to the dataset name.

Hi Anuj,
like Enrico said earlier, when trying to edit and you get a dataset in use, you hit PF1 twice and bingo, you will get a list of who's using the file.
