Hi,

I have created a package and written program with some name e.g., ABC001. I want to change upon some requirement to ABC002. Can we rename the component name in Changeman directly like in ISPF panel?

Now I am staging a dummy component into Chnageman and COPY and PASTING all the lines those are present in ABC001. I am providing new name ABC002 during STAGING.

Instead of doing all these, I would like to Rename a component directly.

Regards,
KSK

Hi Anuj,

Thanks for the reply. As Agni suggested in the above link, one can give some other name during staging. But the new member name we will be going to mention should not be present in production. If present in Production, in my case, it was giving "CHECK-OUT ENFORCED".

Regards,
KSK

So you are trying to rename component1 to component2, and both component1 and component2 are existing in production library?
You call this as RENAME?

Hi,

Well, as Devzee said that's not 'renaming', you are just using the some 'existing' program-name but with different code. If production does 'have' the same component why don't you use the same component (in case enhancement is required) & if it's a 'new' code, use a new name...

Hi Devzee/Anuj,

I was not saying that was equalant to Rename but I just wrote the process that suggested by Agni was working.

As you told, not Rename, it is a new name.

Regrads,
