hi,

if time & region parameter are coded on both job card & exec statement.

i know that time parameter coded on the step will override the time parameter coded on the job.

but i am having confusion in region parameter.whether job will override or step will override?

Hi,

The REGION value on the JOB statement overrides the REGION values on any EXEC statement in the job. The REGION= value coded on an EXEC statement in the job is only used if no REGION= value is coded on the JOB statement.

//MYJOB JOB (S-1300-556@@,RTEM),SMITH,CLASS=A,
// MSGLEVEL=1,REGION=1536K
//*
//STEP1 EXEC PGM=IDCAMS,REGION=512K

The REGION= keyword on the job statement above overrides
the REGION= keyword on the EXEC statement in the job.

Thanks,
Reddy.

JCL manual clearly states that JOB specification overrides EXEC specifications.

Hi Priyesh,

It might help if you told us the load module size, how many files (buffers) the pgm uses, has the pgm executed, if so, for how long (approx) before abending, what kind of system msgs are you getting?

I doubt that real storage is your problem since the region is allocated to your pgm on disk.
