Hi all,

This is a general query regarding the salary packages in the current market for Mainframe professionals over a broad range of years of experience (i.e. for 2+ , 6+ etc). What is the difference between MNCs and Indian IT services companies? What abt the Onsite opportunities ???
Experienced people on this discussion group can throw some light upon this.

Thanks in advance,
Durga

Regarding your query for salary package it depends on your skill sets .Normally for 2 yrs ppl they can fetch around 4-5 Lakh p.a depending on the type of company.

Onsite opportunities are there for mainframe professionals but I would suggest you to learn web enabling mainframes i.e. learn IBM WEBSPHERE.

hi friend,

I have some Industry standard packages of reputed companies for IT professionals in general and not for mainframe in common. If you need it then I can post here. The data is genuine and has been taken from employee salary slips in their respective companies. The data is 6 months old.But it doesn't vary too much with the current situation.

Advantage of MNC'c is that they offer you good sal package than Indian firms comparably.Drawback may be layoff AFIK when comparable to India IT firms(excluding the type of work that you have in it).
Some of Indian companies has no layoff in the recent yrs.eg,Infosys,patni...etc..

Onsite oppt?? It depends on the experience, capability of the person, requirement of the organisation,short-term or a long-term os....etc., -- too many considerations icon_smile.gif
