Once again, i find a thread i'm participating in being locked and the user banned - and this was that user's first post
A technical question was asked and a couple of us had replied and now the topic is locked and the user banned.
I thought there was considerable discussion a while back that there would be no more first-post banning unless the post was something most would consider worse than just a mistake. If someone posts incorrectly, there were supposed to be warnings and an explanation to them - not an instant ban. Several people seem to be following the "give'm a warning, not a ban" thought, but obviously, some are not. . .
This is also being posted in the Suggestions & Feedback section. It is posted here because the locked topic is in this forum.

Hi Mac,
Looks like we're swapping notes in both forums
The one i was referring to is http://ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=21384 i believe.
It looks like the same question is in both topic-id's but the user only shows one post?
I'm confused
I also don't understand the wide range between the topic#'s. . |
