Hello,
Please clarify your request. . .
There are many forms of EDI (you do mean Electronic Data Interchange, right?). There are many "standard" edi-formats - that must be adhered to by everyone who needs to send and/or receive data using that format.
Which format(s) are you interested in or are you planning to create your own format? |

From what little I recall about ANSI X.12:
A 270 transaction is a Health Care Eligibility/Benefit Inquiry. I believe that this is sent to the Trading Partner as a request to determine if a patient is eligible for coverage for specific procedures. The Trading Partner returns a 271 Health Care Eligibility/Benefit Information transaction with the details of coverage.
A 276 transaction is a Health Care Claim Status Request. I believe that this is sent to the Trading Partner as a request for the status of a healthcare claim. The Trading Partner returns the 277 Health Care Claim Status Notification. |

Hello,
Unless your organization enters into an agreement with some other organization to exchange data in this manner, you will not do anything with EDI on your mainframe. EDI is not often used solely internally.
If you look at the transaction data formats, you will notice that they are typically not platform dependent. As long as both "sides" of the "conversation" follow the standard convention, they can exchange request/response data - which is what EDI was designed for.
If this is not what you are looking for, please let us know. |

Hello,
If you do a web search using the content between the |'s, you will get more than 10,000 hits - |+edi +"ansi x.12"|.
The first 3 look like they will have what you want - with either google or yahoo. . . |
