AFAIK, there is no EVALUATE command/statement in DB2 or in SQL. However, there is a CASE expression in SQL.

The only EVALUATE that I'm familiar with is COBOL's EVALUATE statement.

Hello,

Might it be that the interviewer and the applicant were not effectively communicating? The question may have been how to evaluate the use of DB2 (i.e. would DB2 be a good choice for a particular requirement?).

Other than that, i've not heard of EVALUATE as a DB2 term.
