Compare files with record length of more than 80?

I would like to compare 2 files with record length of 14000.Can it be done through file aid and whether 3.13 can be used?

Hello,

Yes, you can compare files with a length greater than 80.

As far as 14000 - i've not tried that ("3.13" says there is no limit). If 3.13 will go that high, i imagine that File-Aid will also. There should be no big penalty for trying it on your system.

But in the output of 3.13 you cannot see more than 80 bytes of the record.How can we see the whole record?

Hello,

3.13 will tell you which line(s) do not match - you will have to "roll your own" to see the actual data. File-aid will show the difference and what positions in the record it occurs.
