file aid selection

i need select some records from a file thru file-aid based on some criteria.I need to know no:of records selected based on that crieteria.In file aid is there any way to find out the total no:of records selected based on temporary selection criteria. ??

When i use temporary selection,some records are selected based on the criteria.But i am not able to determine the number of records.Please help

If you give M F8 and come to be bottom of our list then you can see the number of records at the right hand corner of the screen. If you doing it in the batch mode then in the sysout you may be able to view the count of records. Please try it
