Hello,
Please clarify what you are asking.
What do you mean by "test mainframe file"?
Many types of mainframe files may be directly ftp'd to a unix system. Some cannot.
What kind of file(s) are you going to send to the unix system? How do you intend to "test" it on the unix system? |

As Mr. D. said already... you need to clarify what do you mean by "test"...
Mainframes files can be transferred to a Unix Box via FTP/SFTP... but what is that you want to test... |

Check? As in validate contents? As in validate existence? As in a unix executable looking at datasets on the mainframe? |

Hello,
What might you do on a unix system that you couldn't do on the meinframe where they were created? |
