Hi,
I encounter a situation frequently where while browsing a VSAM KSDS file, I cannot view some records in ISPF Browse facility but same records are visible in DITTO Browse. After a day or so, ISPF also shows those missing records.
Things I would really like to know are:
1) How is browsing done from ISPF i.e. when we enter 'BR' in front of a KSDS and press enter how the data is retrieved from DASD to the terminal!
2) Is it possible to know the algorithm for the browse operation in ISPF and DITTO!
3) And ofcourse, what causes this lag of record view in the two tools!
Please guide.

I suspect that BR is a home-developed command (or one that was downloaded from CBTTAPE).
You might what to ask your system programmers...

Better you use 'File-AID' tool for browsing a VSAM KSDS file.
It is very flexible and easy to use.
