I am going to test performance of batch processes run in mainframe. Please let me know the monitoring options available in mainframe. Do I have to do additional coding in JCL to monitor the resources. Do the log files provide suffient data needed to monitor the performance of the batch processes?

STROBE is one of the tool. You don't need additional changes to your JCL, setup STROBE (Queued job) and once your job start strobe compiles statistics for you. Normally invoked by giving TSO STROBE.

Search forum and you might find more information.
