Hi siva,
It is better to conduct a survey about these things among forum members so that we should know atleast some of the tools. It is clear that we dont know all of them. Hundreds of tools are available for Mainframe testing. It is advisable that u must learn the tool that is used in u r organization. It is enough.

Most commonly used are.
XPEDITOR,CA-Intertest,SMART TEST, Xtrace, Trace master. |

Hi Siva,
Tools used in mainframes vary from project to project. I have listed few tools which Im aware of.
Xepditer - Debugging tool mainly used for Unit Testing.
FILEAID - For doing all file operations.
Platinum - Tool for DB2.
SPUFI - DB2 tool
QMF - DB2 tool
OLQ - IDMS tool |

Endevour is a version control tool. which is used to maintain the changes to the/newely added entries to the production.
one more tool is used to test the IDMS/ADSO, Natural programs is online debugger |
