Hi all,
Any one of you please let me know the short description for the File-aid dataset specification?
1. What is the use of Browse Mode? What is the meaning of the available different modes (F,C,V,U)
2. What are Record Layout and XREF Information? What is the Record Layout Usage (Single, XREF, None)?
3. What is the Selection Criteria Information? What about Existing, Temporary, Modify, Quick and None) |

hi,
Browse mode you can made changes to the code but it wont save.
F- Formatted one record per page. with the record layout
C- Character
V- Vertical FMT is like F but it shows buch of records vertically
U-Unformatted FMT.
If you set U for Browse mode. it means you have to set Record Lay out like "N" - None.
that means it shows the data what ever format it actually resides in file
If it have some format that means copy book (Record description captured in a member). if you want to map that copy book to file aid you need to set it like "S" - single.. (Fixed format files) (FB/F).
If it is variable then you need to select Xref.
Select critiria = where it will have N-None
T-Temporary
E- Existing
...
Thanks&Regards,
