Can one edit his own posted msg? If so, how?
Thank you. |

I think users should be allowed to atleast delete their own posts.
Why I am saying this is because if the user finds some mistake in the recently posted msg(his own);then he could correct it deleting the previous post.
The delete option can be made available for 10 mins after posting.
Corrections welcome! |

| I think once a post has been replied to, then it must remain off limits to any but critical modification. |

Hello,
What i've had happen is that a poster will send me a PM and ask a correction/duplicate deletion be made. So far, that has not been a burden - i average 2 or so a week.
If a poster really changes their mind, i'd suggest a follow-on post explaining what from their previous post needs clarification/correction.
Having said that, before i was given edit capability, i sure would have liked to correct typos without a repost. Even with a Preview, the error doesn't jump out at me until after Submit:) |

That's gr8! but why should one trouble moderators simple typos etc...
Given the delete access for short time (say till 10 mins after post); one can correct the posted message if any ( somewhat similar to Orkut.com ). |

Hello,
Most of this type of PM was to entirely delete a duplicate post (hopefully before a warning was issued ) or a content issue. Don't recall ever being asked to fix merely a typo.
I do occasionally fix my own typos |
