Frank,

best wishes for the future, you are surely going to be missed.

For a person like me with no programming background, DFSORT has certainly helped me in carrying out some of my daily tasks and for that I'm very grateful.

Enjoy your retirement.

Five or seven years ago I exchanged emails with Frank about the benchmark comparison tests I was doing on DFSORT and S******T at a business unit of "Big Z Insurance" from which I later retired. It was easy and fun to detect Frank's pleasure and enthusiasm at hearing that his DFSORT had soundly beaten S******T in 100% of our comparison tests.

I had expected a simple curt reply from the question I posed to IBM.

Instead Frank took his time to personally answer my question and to explain the improvements that had been made that allowed DFSORT to perform so well in our tests. It was memorable experience and still appreciated. Frank really put a human face on Big Blue. Frank, thank you again.

Hi Frank,

It is really tough to read this that you will be no longer here to help us. However, I wish you a great time after retirement. You have been very kind and helpful and provided great solutions. It is really unbelievable that we will miss you.

Good luck.

Best Regards,
Ram.

Hi Frank,
It’s time to throw away the alarm clock, put away the fancy clothes and embrace a new way of starting your mornings. Enjoy this new chapter in your life like it’s a week long vacation that never ends. Wishing you the very best.

Best whishes, Frank !

Thanks for the help I needed from time to time. Always good responses.

Now you have the choice : either you take care of your pet rats or - as you said you don't have access to a Mainframe anymore, then you develop a FYSort on Windows. Do you dare?

Profitez bien de votre retraite à faire plein de belles choses.

Bonne chance

Pierre

There was one with a guy standing next to an early sorter, but it was too embedded to include here.

Thanks the Bill for pointing out that I had a badly formed link. I was able to correct them before my edit limit was reached.
