CoolGen/Adavantage Gen is the product of CA. By using this u can generate the code for any platform and for any language. For ex, In ur application Java will be used as a frontend and Mainframe is using as Backend. You can set the platform, host lang, database before coding the logic in COOL:Gen, then u can generate the code accordingly. It can be used for Client server technology, mainframe and Open systems.

let me know, If u need more info.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for ur valuable info.

I have some more doubts on that. As I'm working in a maintainance project what kind of help i can get from this tool because we are doing only the enhancements.

We have all front screens build in cics and also we have a web based application connected to our main system.

Thanks in advance.

Whatever the new enhancements u r planning do, u can develop in COOL:Gen, then generate the code correspondingly based on ur req. Even u can develop the screens(like CICS) using COOL:Gen.

My experience with coolgen was not favorable. I would suggest doing it the old fashion way. icon_sad.gif

code it yourself and quit looking for a silver bullet.
