i think uncatlg will uncatalog the file i.e. it will not be present in the the volume u have already specified while 'keep' after abnormal termination will keep the file.
Correc tme if i am wrong. |

uncatlg will remove the file from catlog but the file will be present in the memory
if you want to access this file , provide the volume and serial no. |

UNCATLG will remove the entry that belongs or points to the dataset from the catalog; which means we can UNCATLG only if it is cataloged.
KEEP will keep the dataset but doesnt catalog.
Thanks,
Rajesh. |

If any dataset is catalog we can uncatlg it. It wont be in the catalog list. We can again catalog the uncatlg one by specifying volume ser.
Keep means dataset will be kept on the volume. |

Hi,
UNCATLG - Does not keep the Catalog Entry ( 3.4 ).
KEEP - There will be VTOC Entry, U need to provide unit and Vol=ser information to access it. |

I've personally never seen an instance when someone has used UNCATLG in a DISP parameter. |

with UNCTLG the dataset remains on the volume it is stored, but is only accessible if you know the volume and device as all info about it is removed from the master/user catalog
KEEP leaves the dataset where it is (both volume and catalog, or just volume; dependent upon how it was created) |
