It has nothing to with JCL. Copybooks are COBOL elements (just like macros in Assembler or Copycodes in NATURAL), and you can read more about it in the fine manual.

| Copy book wil contain the record description/ layout, Purpose of copy book is If we use same record description/ layout in different programes instead of coding a copy book again , we can call the same copy book. |
