I have a requirement to sort a file of length 9207 . The file has about 5 million records in it . Using SYNCSORT it takes at least 4 hrs to sort the file . Is there a way to speed up this process?
Thanks,

Is there any way to break this up into several sorts that could run at the same time? Key range? Then merge the individual sort together? I've done this at time with reasonable success.
Let us know what happened

Hi frnd,
As per Davidatk said u can break in to several sort.. i think it should work.. since it's about 5 million records it takes valuable time only... even u break i think u can reduce it up to 20-15 min.. but be carefull in that such that it should follow in check points properly without abends... |
