What is the difference between CICS 4.1 and transaction server in CICS? Is CICS a transaction server? Or is CICS transaction server different from CICS?

Hi Joseph,

CICS is a Transaction processing system and it works as a transaction manager.

To your query there exists a difference between CICS 4.1 and transaction server. I suggest you can refer some CICS performance tuning documents to have clear picture.

Moderators please throw some light on the above issue.

Correct me if I am wrong.
