Dear all,
I would like to use in-stream command to copy sequential dataset to a new name which will be a file trigger of a certain OPC.
this in-stream will include old file name and newly-copied file name.
i know several ways but they are not entirely in-stream, so plz help?
thanks in advance! |

the reason i request this is, i find copying dataset successfully will make the trigger effective.
if you know any other way to make trigger effective, big welcome!
I know rename is not working for trigger(just renaming a file to trigger's name will not simply trigger the opc).
thank you |

I am not understanding what you mean by "in-stream" in this case. You can copy by batch job or interactively. You could put those interactive commands into a batch job. But neither of these are "in-stream".In-sttream, to me, means data in a batch job i.e. 80 byte records after a DD *. |

As in my reply to your previous post, it's the closing of the dataset that causes the OPC trigger. Clearly renaming a dataset does not cause it to be opened or closed.
If the only purpose of your rename is to trigger the OPC schedule though, that's an odd way to do it. Use EQQEVPGM or EQQYCAIN. Or even just use job triggering on the job in question. |
