Does anyone here know what happened to Bill Woodger?
He was an expert on DFSORT and COBOL and used to post here quite often.
Then his posts abruptly stopped on April 27, 2017.
This is the last one I can find:
ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?p=339832&highlight=#339832
I hope he's OK, but it's very unlike him to abruptly cease posting.
I fear something may have happended to him. |

I'm afraid it's sad news. I found his Facebook profiile: facebook.com/bill.woodger.3 and sent connect requests to all his friends.
His sister-in-law responded that he died of a heart attack May 1st last year while working in Krakow Poland.
This is indeed a shock as he was one of the sharpest minds I've known in this business.
Always "on top of his game", as they say, even though you'd never know it by looking at his LinkedIn profile:
linkedin.com/in/bill-woodger-278a5117
He corrected me several times on coding details and always with a sense of humor, never condescending.
I'll really miss him. |

I was kinda afraid about it, we have known each other for quite some time through this forum. The last thing I heard from him was about a job switch to Poland from Portugal, we will all miss you, Bill. |

sadly many of us are getting to 'that age' where losing comrades in arms happens more frequently |
