Do you think if there are 2 exit routines at exit6 that the second routine will be invoked after all of the cards for a job have passed thru the first routine or is each card passed in sequence thru each routine ?

The exit routines are called in this order

card 1 - exit 1, then exit 2

card 2 - exit 1, then exit 2

end of job - exit 1, then exit 2

The return codes, especially in the first exit routine called, can fiddle with this to some extent. See the docs.
