A guess would be , to check for the cursor to be defined correctly and there is no overflow of the storage when you fetch.
Please post complete error messages as told above and without that no one can really help to point you to the right place.

The IEC9999I message usually means that, at task end, a DCB had not been closed AND the DCB was either corrupted or it had disappeared. Since there appeared to be an S0C4 ABEND, I'm guessing the DCB was corrupted. I am inclined to agree with Rohit Umarjikar; there are more messages. I suspect the IKJ56641I message shown by the topic starter represents 2 messages
