Hello Team,
I want to Access a sequential file from IMS DC online program . I have read that this can be done with the help of treating the sequential file like GSAM. So we Need to create a PSB with this GSAm file Details. But doubted where to give the Details like the real physical file Name. Is this done using the DATASET parm in DBD ? Please advise. |

DATASET indicates the the input/output DDNAMEs. These, in trun, will have the relevant dataset names encoded in your JCL or IMS's JCL. It should all be in the manuals. |

Hi,
Since this is an IMS online transaction, there is no JCL to specify the DDNAME.
So where should I specify the real physical file name . PLease advise. |

The same place as all other online databases are specified - and if you read my post very carefully you will see where that is at the end of the second sentence. But you will need to consult your IMS support people. |

Nic is right. Consult your IMS support team. In our shop what you propose would be strictly forbidden for operational reasons. |
