Is there any parameter that determies how long a quiesce can wait for the locks to be drained on an object before it fails?
I have seen several quiesce jobs, they wait for long periods waiting for the object and unfortunately if there are other objects in the list they stay held by the quiesce job.
How long will it stay trying to get the lock before it gives up, releases locks on other objects and fails? |

Hi Nayak,
I dont think there is any such parameter for quiesce. It should max wait for timeout value.
You can have proper scheduling which should avoid such quiesce errors.
Also these is an option of write no, which will avoid writing change pages to disk. However in your case this would not be of much help. |

That is too bad, I as hoping there was a zparm that could help us control the run length of the utility.
Thanks for the information. |
