What is the Major difference between 24bit and 31 bit addressing mode?In these two which one is best? Why it is best?

vs cobol can run only 24 bit addersing mode but vs cobol II can run both
24 & 31 addersing mode. 31 bit is best . it is more adnvandage 24 bit
