Hi
I have requirement to have a $ masking with Signed bit in front of the variable.
WS 5 N 2 is my vairable declaration.
i need the output like this
-$100.22
Can you pleas help |

It would be nice of you to say "with Easytrieve Plus".
Your requirement is very standard, so what have you tried? 30 seconds with the manual should get you there. Look at other programs. Ask you colleagues. Try something. All will get you there faster than the time to post here, then wait. |

Thanks for replying.
Before i posting here, i tried with -$$$9.99. But when the field is having the value as 1000.44 and its displaying as -1$000.44.
I could see that most of the examples or the programs are coded the signed bit at the last position.
But i will try to explore. It would be great if you could guide me or assit me. |

When posting, it is best to show what you have already tried.
Now that you've discovered that Easytrieve Plus MASKs are not like Cobol editing PICture strings, you have two choices.
You either get the user "on board" with the way Easytrieve Plus works, and put the minus in a fixed position to the right of the number, or...
You write a sub-program which does the editing for you, into an "A", which you then use on the report. |
