How to place the HOLD ?

Hi,

I'm new to CA7, please educate me to learn more.

I have a scenario where JOB M (SCHID=010) has successor jobs A,B,C and D which is scheduled to run every day at 3PM

In a similar way I have JOB N (SCHID=020) has successor jobs A,B,C, and D which is scheduled to run every day at 4pm.

Now both the schedules JOB(M) and JOB(N) has scanned to Queue.

Now I want to place HOLD only for JOB D of schedule JOB(N). How I can do this.

I tried using 'JOB' option which is available, but in that there is no option to specify the schedule ID. So how to place hold in this circumstance.

This is very well explained in CA7 Manuals. Please start from there.

To get you going - AFAIK, there are two ways to put a hold on the Job in CA-7. One is through the "JOB" command, as you said and the other is through the "JOBCONN" command. Usually, it is preferred to put a hold through the "JOBCONN" command as this helps to add some information on why the job is put on hold and who should be contacted before releasing the hold.
