For someone who is just starting his career with zOS, there has to be something which should keep on working down the line for 35-40 years. And keeping an eye on such new launches becomes necessary (by choice)... before I'm thrown out.

I'm not sure if I'll enjoy working with "Fun Languages" but at times they promise better money.

You're welcome Dick. They say that the new zEnterprise EC12 computer is the result of a three-year, $1 billion R&D investment by IBM... .

PS.: I'm not sure, if there are more companies who are investing in to R&D these days? Perhaps, only the product base companies are in to it.

I just started a Book which starts like this, "On Tuesday, February 6, 2001, Bell Labs closed its Silicon Valley research facility laying off 18 researchers!" -- This is scary and the news like this sounds like "inflection points" in one's career and they are, possibly, powerful enough to change the lives for one and all, after that... .
