Greetings.
I'm faced with a number of Base-clusters and their associated AIXes and Paths, that have been Migrated (to tape). I'd like to delete all those entries, but it seems that HSM won't accept any HDELETE (or HSEND DELETE). It looks as if I'll have to recall everything first and THEN delete the lot.
Is this really necessary? Some of those clusters are HUGE.

First point would be to didcuss with your storage management why HSM will not accept the instructions.
Also, a straight IDCAMS DELETE usually invokes the HSM elements automatically, so see what happens using IDCAMS DELETE on the base cluster name. |

If you use IDCAMS DELETE base.cluster.name CLUSTER it will delete the whole SPHERE which includes the base cluster and any associated AIX's and PATH's etc. I haven't tested it but I assume that would delete any associations that are migrated by DFHSM as well. |
