Hi,
We have a DCOLLECT job which collects information about migrated datasets. Are these migrated datasets information generated by DFSHSM?
I would like to know if there is any direct relation between DFSHSM and DCOLLECT?
Also could you please let me know what other alternative products are available which does similar task like DFSHSM?
Thank you, |

I got the answer to one question,
Quote: |

There is a dd name //MCDS on Dcollect JCL, so it implies that DCOLLECT gets information generated by DFSHSM.
Are there similar products to DFSHSM and can they be used along with DCOLLECT in the same way? |

There are similar products available, such as FDR/ABR, CA-ASM2, CA-DMS
but whether they are DCOLLECT compatible I don't know |

FDREPORT can report on datasets migrated (archived) by DFHSM as well as those migrated by FDRABR.
The DFHSM command HLIST can be used to get info from DFHSM
You can also run SAS reports directly from the DFHSM Control Datasets but you need access to the manuals that describe the records, their formats and offsets etc.
There is also HSM Reporter from Rocket |
