Hi all
We used to give Processor type (COBONL , COBBAT, COBBATDB , COBONLDB) and we used to specify Processor group ( in some cases like MAPBGT) ,while trying to add an element using Endevor..What is an Processor group? Why do we specify it only for some cases ( some cases we will leave it blank and the system will use its default)
Anyone please do reply
Regards

HI
The processor group is given when u add an element to an endevor library
if not given it takes a default processor group like cobnvl, which is in general a processor group for complilation of cobol programs
But if the program deals with CICS,IMSdb,DB2 then we need to select the suitable processor group accordingly
Cheers

Processor groups actually tell us what a particular item in Endevour is and what its composition is like say a cobol, MVS/OS390 , online, Db2 , DL/I and other stuff
eg: C3NYNN2 would basically be a COBOL, OS390, NO CICS, DB2 YES, NO DLI, NO IMS and its DATA24
This also helps us in knowing what are the compile options which needs to be provided, without actually going through the programs or if the programs is not properly documented.
Thanks,
